The Malankara Syrian Orthodox Church UK stands firm in the ancient Orthodox Christian faith handed down from the Apostles through the Holy Apostolic See of Antioch. On this page, we honour the Holy Fathers who have shepherded and inspired our Church throughout the centuries, and share our core teachings, doctrine, and liturgical traditions of the West Syriac Rite that continue to shape our worship and spiritual life today.

The faith of the Syriac Orthodox Church is in accordance with the Nicene Creed.
It believes in the Trinity, that is one God, subsisting in three separate persons called the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The three being of one Essence, of one Godhead, have one Will, one Work and one Lordship.
The Church confesses the mystery of the Incarnation: The Only Begotten Son of God took flesh from the Virgin Mary by the power of the Holy Spirit and became man. He is fully God and fully man in one incarnate nature without division, confusion, or change.
The Virgin Mary is honoured as Yoldath Aloho — "Bearer of God." The Church conforms to the Three Ecumenical Synods of Nicea (AD 325), Constantinople (AD 381), and Ephesus (AD 431).
